Dhamma Service

Old students having completed at least one 10-days course may apply to give service. To serve is not only a great contribution to offer Vipassana courses in this unique way but it is very beneficial in helping strengthen and developing one's own practice. Since the Centre is still in its initial stage of development, we need not only service during courses and for maintenance of the centre but also for construction and developmental activities.

Dhamma Service during Courses:

Old students may apply to serve a course full- or part-time. Servers are always needed on courses and you may even apply to serve on a course which is already in progress. Please read the Code of Conduct for Dhamma Workers(external link)* and then contact: dhamma-service@ketana.dhamma.org

Long term Service:

Caretaker:

There always has to be at least one person staying as a long term server in the centre.

His responsibility broadly covers:

Other responsibilities like helping in construction, helping in the garden, setting up a database, keeping the accounts ... will be according to skills and likings.

Dhamma Service for construction and developmental activities:

Over the next couple of years the following permanent buildings will be constructed:

Any old student who would like to participate in the process of building the centre is welcome for any length of time. In case you are a carpenter, mason, plumber, etc you could give valuable service. Also many works can be done without having any special skills.
